Terminal Emulation Software
Over the years we have used for communication to our XL series data recorders HyperTerminal.  With the release of Windows Vista HyperTerminal is no longer a part of their operating system, nor does HyperTerminal work with Vista, therefore, we recommend using TeraTerm as a free Telnet software package.
